Septimus Buddy Cups

Today we celebrate the seventh year

Of Buddy Cups’ founding and unerring growth

As a seventh event, we might look back

To ancient times when Septimus, the seventh,

Signified a position of distinction and honour,

A goal which we, friends and supporters,

Would dearly love to achieve.

A further accolade attributed to Septimus

Was not only completeness but absolute perfection,

Which few, we included, can ever attain.

So, when viewing ourselves against the dubious parallel

Of aims attributed to the Roman Septimus,

Our unending desire in our seventh year of being

Is to look forward to the joy of welcoming new friends,

To develop and expand our support and understanding

And to continue to strive for our long-stated aims:

“Uplift, Inspire, Be!”
