Buddy Cups March Meeting: A Special 6th Birthday Celebration

On Friday, 7th February, Buddy Cups North East celebrated its 6th Birthday in the marvellous surroundings of The Marco Pierre White Restaurant at Hotel Indigo Durham.

We all enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, though we struggled to finish everything—so doggy boxes were taken home for later! The staff at Hotel Indigo were, as always, incredibly attentive and helped make our afternoon extra special. Tea, coffee, chat, and laughter flowed freely throughout the event.

A highlight of the afternoon was the quiz prepared by Graham, who also shared a heartfelt poem he wrote for us. As our very own Poet Laureate, his words truly captured the spirit of our community:

How to achieve our constant aims

To uplift, inspire and, importantly, be?

This is the challenge that faces us all,

When we examine in depth our purpose and cause.

The ways are many, a few we have tried:

Talking to one another and listening

Can uplift and provide a positive vision.

For others to stride out on physical tasks

Is a self-declaration of their very being.

Partaking in previously daunting activities

Provides inspiration towards positive focus.

But we ask ourselves “What more can we do?”

To enhance our widely recognised group.

Ideas, suggestions, and sharing of thought

Are both needed and welcomed. Over to you.
