Hope, Support, and Community Connections - Buddy Cups May Meeting

Our monthly May meeting was a very well presented talk by David from "If U Care Share" on the work that they are doing in our communities, in schools, workplaces offering help and support where needed. It was thought provoking, unsettling at times but very positive and full of hope. David was accompanied by his two lovely wire haired daschunds Betsy and Emmi 🐾🐾. I am sorry but I completely forgot to take any photos, however Sue Roberts took two of me with little Emmi and David is in the background, Betsy was asleep in her carry case. Attached is a copy of one of the leaflets which David and Beth left with us and if you would like to ask any further questions or support, then all their information is on the leaflet.

Further dates for your diaries for May and June - Our next book club meeting is on the 27th of May at 11am and we meet in the Cafe area at The Gala Theatre for a cuppa and to review the current book and have our next book revealed.

Our next main meeting is on Friday 5th June at 1pm in the Education Room at the Cafe in Wharton Park, Durham. Car Parking is available and is metered. The webpage said it was around 70p per half hour. I will try to get up and take picture of current charges in the park ahead of the meeting so we are prepared. Our very own Claire and Gill are taking our craft activity and we look forward to what they have in store for us.

On the 17th of June it will be our next Pub meet up and we have decided to go back to Hotel Indigo at 7pm till approx 9pm. We had a lovely time of chat and laughter last month.

Our final date for your diaries is of course our Summer Fund Raiser which is Afternoon Tea in Gillian's garden at Morley Farm, Brancepeth on Saturday 27th June between 2 - 4pm. If you have any items for the stalls please bring them along to our next meeting or let us know if we need to collect. Any bakers out there, please also tell us what you would like to make. We are sure it will be a fun afternoon. We currently have 19 attending so for all of you who have not yet booked your tickets, and you can bring a friend or two with you, then please do let us know before the end of May so we can cater accordingly. Tickets are £7.50 per person. Parking may be an issue but we will update you next month in that respect. 🌻🄰.
