A Supportive Community
Uplift. Inspire. Be.
WHO WE ARE
Buddy_Cups was launched in 2019 as a coffee club for anyone who has been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis, directly or indirectly. We build friendships with a range of different activities, workshops, and guest speakers. It's somewhere to connect with people who are going through or have been through similar journeys. This group is open to anyone, and we'd love to connect with you.
Buddy_Cups Spring/Summer Programme
April 2023 to September 2023
1st Friday of each month meeting at
The Neighbourhood Café
9 Old Elvet, Durham at 1pm
"Buddy Cups is a lovely relaxed group, especially for us Breasties, where we can share our stories and experiences to help each other. It’s also a great place to try new skills to distract us from the anxieties a cancer diagnosis brings along."

Musical afternoon with Sam Slatcher
We had another wonderful afternoon at Hotel Indigo in our monthly meet up. We waved flags to get us all in celebratory mood for the Coronation. Then the wonderful Sam Slatcher sang for us and shared a little of how Citizen Songwriters came about. We had a chance to write down some ideas and these have been sent to Sam to see if he can put our time together into song. We look forward to hearing what he comes up with. A video of the song City of Sanctuary is attached and if you like what you hear then you can follow Sam at www.SamSlatcher.com. We hope we will hear Sam again at a future event.
Crafting with Mandy!
On Friday 4th April we had the lovely Mandy leading the craft session and we made postcards based on the Japanese art of Kinsugi - the art of remaking broken things. It was a very therapeutic afternoon.
Buddy_Cups Fourth Anniversary!
On Friday 3rd March we celebrated 4 years since the set up of Buddy_Cups with an afternoon tea at Hotel Indigo, in Durham. As can be seen from the attached photographs the ladies all had a fabulous time and as always Hotel Indigo were a great support to us.
It is hard to believe that we have been going for 4 years and despite covid we are still here and still hoping to make a difference in the lives of those affected by Breast Cancer. Thank you to everyone who has and continues to support us. Together we can make a difference.
